2020 was certainly a year of change and dynamic shifts at Dominican Center.
And we enter the new year with one more change to announce.
On December 31, 2020, Margarita Solis-Deal resigned her position as director to move to Indianapolis, Indiana, where her husband Darryl accepted a new job.
We celebrate Margarita's significant gifts and all she has done to grow the ministry of Dominican Center at Marywood.
Margarita served the Dominican Sisters and Dominican Center for five-and-a-half years, providing the Center with leadership, creativity, vision; and building relationships with innumerable individuals and other organizations in and beyond the Grand Rapids area.
We can’t thank Margarita enough for the marvelous job she and her team did of pivoting the Center to a virtual platform during COVID-19, which brought the Center to national awareness. Throughout her tenure, the creativity and depth of programming developed for the Center has been a blessing.
Margarita touched so many people with her deep faith and collaborative attention. The Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids, the Dominican Center team, and all of the friends of Dominican Center will miss her presence in our daily lives.
Sister Diane Zerfas, OP, is serving as the Interim Director of Dominican Center at Marywood. Sr. Diane has held the Interim Director role before. We are grateful for her willingness to serve the Center in this capacity again. The Leadership Team will be posting the Director job description soon. Sr. Diane and the Dominican Center Staff continue to offer programs virtually. Be sure to check the Center’s website regularly for current offerings.
Below are some of our favorite memories.
