Tending the Call: The Impact of God (Online)

Spiritual Director Conversations

Date(s):
Tuesday 10/04/2022 - Tuesday 12/06/2022
Time(s):
6:30pm - 8:00pm EST
Price:
$100.00

Be with us this fall for Tending the Call. Join our community of Spiritual Directors who feel called to deepen their understanding of the spiritual wisdom of various spiritual giants and contemplative practices introduced in Practicum I and II. We will revisit the teachings of these foundational companions and reimagine ways they might support our present-day ministries.

Come to share, study, and pray with a sacred community of practicing Spiritual Directors as we seek a deepening relationship with God and are reminded of the sacred journey of transformation that called each of us into this ministry.

During this 6-week study, we will explore more fully the life and writings of St. John of the Cross through Iain Matthew’s book The Impact of God (Soundings from St. John of the Cross). Together we will inquire how St. John’s writings might spark new awareness and insights for the present way we accompany those we guide and companion in our ministries.

About our Study

Who was John of the Cross? What is the Dark Night of the Soul? What advice did John have for Spiritual Directors? How might we companion those who may be going through a "Dark Night" experience? How might we be present to ourselves? Ian Matthew's book The Impact of God is a gentle introduction to these and other questions emerging from the life and writings St. John of the Cross. Come and explore with us together in community with other Spiritual Directors.
