Advent is a time of waiting for our Lord, who will visit us all in our own hearts. The Lord is coming! Let us wait for him!

You are invited to join us as we prepare our hearts together during the 2022 Advent season. Using the Scriptures of Advent, creative reflection, prayer, music and sacred conversation, we will discover the wonder of “God with us”.

We will meet four Sunday Evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 at Dominican Center Marywood at Aquinas College to pray and join together in spiritual conversations around Richard Rohr’s book, Preparing for Christmas, Daily Meditations for Advent.

Richard RohrIn Preparing for Christmas, Richard Rohr “invites people beyond a merely sentimental understanding of Christmas as ‘waiting for the baby Jesus’ to an adult and social appreciation of the message of the Incarnation of God in Christ.” This book invites us to read and reflect daily on the Scriptures as we prepare for the Christmas season. Each Sunday night together we will pray, reflect and practice deep listening to ourselves and others around the weekly focus.

“‘Come, Lord Jesus,’ the Advent mantra, means that all of Christian history has to live out a kind of deliberate emptiness, a kind of chosen non-fulfillment. Perfect fullness is always to come, and we do not need to demand it now.” ~ Richard Rohr
