Woman painting a mandala | Be Still and Stay in the Light ~ Advent Through the Lens of a Mandala | Dominican Center at Marywood, Grand Rapids, MIBe with us for Advent Through the Lens of the Mandala on Monday, December 13.

When one creates a mandala it becomes a window for exploring one's inner self. It is a container for the introduction of allowing reflection, and the process of creating is a form of meditation in itself....The mandala is a symbol for the universe and gives us a sense of belonging as we examine our own connection within. It is used for insight, healing, and self-expression in a circular design, reflecting the wholeness of the person creating it. ~ Nikki Roberts

As we enter the time of Advent, explore the symbolism and transformative healing offered by mandalas. The shape of an Advent wreath and its candles form a mandala — a symbol of the sacred wholeness that is the essence of all creation and of our own souls. The light from the candles in the Advent wreath grows each week as we remember and anticipate the coming of the Light of the World, even as the weather turns colder and the nights grow longer.

In this Stay in the Light offering, be gently guided to discover the spiritual practice of coloring and shading a mandala to enhance the light where the shadows linger.
