The Center for Spirituality’s directors, educators, presenters, and fellow seekers understand that your spiritual journey is an individual experience. But you never need feel isolated or disconnected. At the Center for Spirituality, you’ll find someone to journey with you spiritually, to celebrate the breakthroughs you have in your spiritual life, and a healing space for those times when life's events feel overwhelming.

In addition to the Dominican Center's Contemplative Learning Programs, you can explore your spirituality and expand your relationship with God through individual and group spiritual direction and by attending contemplative retreats. FOUNDATIONS IN SPIRITUALITY

The Foundations in Spirituality course is a serious reflective study that opens our minds and hearts to the teachings and life examples of the great Christian spiritual teachers that deepen our present spiritual journey. Explore the rich preaching of St. Dominic; the unbreakable faith of St. Teresa of Avila; the deep spirituality of St. John of the Cross; the life-giving wisdom of the Beguines; the fortitude of John Calvin; the daily prayerful life of St. Ignatius; and the lives of many more that enrich our own faith and spirituality.

The course introduces the practice of contemplative prayer and develops an appreciation of a contemplative attitude and presence, as basic to living a spiritual life. The course is open to all who desire to strengthen their understanding of spirituality and who thirst for opening their hearts to a deeper spiritual life.

FOUNDATIONS IN WISDOM: WHERE SPIRITUALITY, MERCY, AND JUSTICE INTERSECT

Building on our connected, common humanity, Foundations in Wisdom offers the opportunity to explore spiritual practices, expand resources, and participate in shared experiences that renew one’s spiritual foundation, as well as the resolve to live in this world with compassion and to respond with contemplative service.

All faith traditions and wisdom teachers are rooted in their commitment to social justice and to those living in the margins of society. The givens of our faith include being good stewards of the earth, empowering the vulnerable to live with dignity, and standing in equity with all peoples.

This spiritual formation experience guides participants toward a deeper understanding that will awaken and strengthen a commitment to justice.
