Heartside Ministry Artists
Heartside Ministry Artists
Heartside Gallery and Studio began in 1993 as a small program of Heartside Ministry. This ever-expanding program continues to offer the Heartside community and its neighbors a supportive and safe environment in which to create, exhibit, and sell artwork.
These artists come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Some are impacted by the disadvantages of homelessness. Others face various emotional, physical, or mental disabilities. Many are people who simply wish to share their talents and expertise with their neighbors.
Art is a valuable outlet for self-expression and creativity. Many artists at the Heartside Gallery and Studio have never received formal training, yet their artwork shows that talent often comes naturally and intuitively.
Artists participate in drawing, painting, found-object sculpture, jewelry-making, pottery & ceramics, sewing & needlework, weaving, woodworking, and much more at directed by staff, offers daily guidance and informal instruction in many mediums, while artists frequently help one another when experimenting with new forms of art creation.
