If you are interested in yoga, but would like to begin gently, Chair Yoga is for you. In this class you will gently move your body using a chair to help you with flexibility, strength, and balance. Seated movements, standing/balancing poses, deep breathing and rest will be woven throughout. You will leave feeling refreshed and energized, yet calm and relaxed. Cost: $80.00 per series of 8 sessions. Walk-ins are welcome as space permits for $12.00 per session.

This series of classes is for anyone desiring to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Dominican history and spirituality. This is a year-long, prayerful study of Dominican saints and historical and contemporary spirituality in the Dominican tradition. This adaptation, the Ignatian Retreat in Life, feeds the hunger of our hearts with the Word of God through nine months of prayer and contemplation. Meditating with Scripture over the month’s time is then shared in a small group with a short teaching about Ignatius’s prayer methods and insights into the spiritual life. The price includes all 10 sessions.

Are there times you wished you had responded with more compassion during a conversation? How often have you, a care-giver, a parent, a spiritual director, a grandparent, a spouse, felt compassion for another yet you were not able to respond compassionately? This program will explore finding answers to questions such as these through the use of the gift of empathy. Our compassion for another is communicated by using the gift of empathy. Learning how to use this gift effectively can create an effective compassionate connection with the other. This is an interactive class with dialogue, role playing and other practice applying the lessons. • The characteristics of an empathetic listener • Using the operative principles for empathetic listening • Distinguishing what empathy is and is not • Understanding the difference between empathy and sympathy • Discerning when empathy is operative

086-045 Enneagram of Personality: Part 1 - Introduction Oct 24, 2014

The Enneagram of Personality Workshop assists in increasing self-knowledge by leading to the discovery and understanding of our own core motivational stance. Core motivational stance helps us understand why we respond as we do to personal life experiences. It also helps uis to realize why and how others in the same situations see and respond so differently. The workshop goals for participants are to: - Grow in self-knowledge and self-responsibility - Become aware of the need to consciously choose responsive rather than reactive behaviors - Decrease negative judgments of self and others - Experience a greater appreciation of perspective different from one’s own - Create more positive attitudes and interactions with others The workshop dynamics include brief presentations of content, multiple interactive processes, and personal reflective exercises. Price includes both Friday night and Saturday, food and materials. The Friday night session is from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday is from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
